Tall Poppy Sports

Megan Holden —

Two groups of Tall Poppies competed in Inter-School Competitions in the lead up to the AIMS Games.

On Tuesday 7th August, our Aims Table Tennis team competed in a tournament at Memorial Hall. Matthew, Zak, Ryan, Leo and Nico all played to the best of their abilities, demonstrating great sportsmanship and enthusiasm. One of our teams made it to semi-finals and placed 4th overall for their division. Thank you to Esther for transporting, managing and supporting our Table Tennis Teams. Thank you to all the parents who helped out with transport.

On Friday 3rd August, Corbin, Gaurang, Daniel and Kiarshin competed in a Badminton Tournament at QEYC Hall. They had a lot of fun and learned a lot in preparation for Aims Games. Thank you to Kelly Bain who managed, transported and supported the teams throughout the day. Kiarshin won one of his single games and the doubles teams tried their best and learned a lot from each competition that they played. “One thing we learned was that it is better to hit low, rather than high over the net.”
