A lunch order day, the PTA AGM, School Production, Quiz night, ..... it is a busy and exciting few weeks for the PTA.

School Production

The Tauriko School PTA is again proud to be the gold sponsor of the School Production. We firmly believe in helping out our school families where we can, not only through the provision of items such as the maths zone and the confidence course planned onsite at school, but through helping reduce costs for families for events.

This year the PTA will be funding the bus transport for the three consecutive days to Bethlehem College for each student and will also be paying the costume hire costs for each student.

The smiling faces of the PTA will be there to greet you prior to each show, so in order to help the PTA, continue to help you, please bring along some spare change so we can possibly tempt you with programmes and for tickets for one of two raffles. There will two raffles drawn on the last night of the production, one for $100 cash and one for a brand new chromebook, kindly donated to Tauriko School by the bronze sponsor and school technology support company, Ited. Tickets will be $2 each of 6 for $10 and will be onsale in the school office from Monday 27th May if you would like to get your raffle tickets in advance.    

Tauriko School Quiz Night 

The Tauriko School Quiz night is a fun adults event that is held annually. Tickets for this years event are now on sale. There are great prizes up for grabs, a fun 80's theme and we can guarantee a great atmosphere - so we just need you to help make it a great night!

When: Saturday 15th June, doors open at 7pm with a 7.30pm start.

Where: Tauriko Settlers Hall, next door to school.

Theme: 80's – dress up encouraged (but not compulsory)

Cost: $25 per ticket, which includes supper and your first drink free!

Funds raised towards: building a confidence course for the students of Tauriko School!

Tickets can be purchased with cash at the school office, via kindo or can be reserved by emailing pta@tauriko.school.nz

So, if this sounds like you, get together your team (teams of 8), book those babysitters and get those thinking caps on for your costume. If you would prefer to not come with a team, no worries – we have tables for couples and individuals to get together and make up teams on the night.

If you own or are part of a business that might be interested in sponsoring the quiz night, please do get in touch.  Organisers are on the hunt for a few more table sponsors (where your brand is plastered around throughout the night in return) and for some more sponsors for the super fun mystery balloons and live auctions!

Tauriko School Annual General Meeting 

If you are interested in joining the PTA, come along and see how things work. It is a great time to join a great bunch of people and as you can see by all that is going on, there are a number of exciting events coming up to get involved in. The PTA is a great way to be involved in the school community and we welcome as much or as little help as you are able to give.

Maths Zone

Our awesome Maths Committee have started the install of the first stages of the Maths Zone. Keep an eye out at the back of room 9 to see what takes shape.  The numbers board and signage looks great! New maths equipment in a user-friendly space dedicated to maths is at the top of the minds of the Maths Committee, so we are excited to see what continues to develop!

For those who might be new to Tauriko School, the Maths Zone is a project funded directly from the funds raised through a Mathathon held by our students.    

Entertainment Books

If you have an Entertainment Book from 2018/19, it will expire next week.  The new Entertainment Books are available to purchase for the 2019/20 year. 20% of the sale of every book sold goes directly to the PTA and you receive up to $20,000 worth of potential discount savings. We appreciate you won't use them all, but there are some great discount vouchers for places such as beauty treatments down at Tauranga Crossing, to discounts at local entertainment venues and restaurants where before you know it you will have received discounts that have covered the cost of the book and more!
