Beauty and the Beast

Room 13 and 14 —

On Friday the 11th of May some of the Year 5 - 8 students had the privilege to attend Tauranga Girls and Boys College show 'Beauty and the Beast'. Read about what some of the students thought about it below:

I was sitting in Baycourt waiting to watch the amazing Beauty and the Beast.

It was a fabulous show from the people at Tauranga Boys College and Tauranga Girls College, they really put effort into the play. It went on for hours but nobody cared because it was so awesome and cool.

The costumes were awesome and they looked like it would have been really hard to make because they would have made hundreds of them, because everybody needed one.

My favourite part was when Gaston tried to marry Bell but she said no. And when Bell slapped Gaston in the face, that made everybody laugh and clap. Another funny part was when Gaston fell down the stairs.

Beauty and the Beast was FANTASTIC!!

“Who let them in!” Roared the terrifying beast, as he stormed down the stairs with an angry frown on his face. We all sat nervously waiting for the drama to unfold.

On Friday the eleventh of May the senior syndicate went to see ‘Beauty and the Beast’ performed by Tauranga Girls and Boys College. We loved the spectacular show that they performed, and admired the hard work that had clearly been put into it.

The characters’ performances were absolutely amazing, along with the costumes, each one was carefully detailed and looked incredible! Everyone loved the show and would love to see it again.

We think they really inspired some of the Tauriko School students, and maybe in the future some of our leaders will take part in a spectacular performance.

“Screech!” The bus halted to a stop. The senior syndicate from Tauriko School poured out and heading towards Baycourt, excited to see the play. Then the head student of Tauranga Girls college came up to see us and she gave us our tickets. She told us where everything is including, toilets, lunch area and our seats. After we sat down in our seats the show began.

As the lights dimmed and the curtains opened there was a strong silence that was broken by the music. The first half was amazing, we could not keep our eyes off the costumes, they were unreal! At 12.30 we had lunch, afterwards the teachers brought us back to the venue for part two.

At the end of the production the head student came up to us again to ask if we enjoyed it, and of course everyone said yes! Then we piled back on the bus heading to school. All tired out we settled back into our classroom, telling everyone who didn’t go how fascinating the play was.
