An adventure camp for you and your child

Jo Te Whaiti —

Parenting Place is excited to bring you Tī Kōuka – the ultimate adventure weekend for parents and their pre-teens. (8-10 March 2019 – Totara Springs, Matamata)

Tī Kōuka – cabbage trees – have been used by Māori for generations to navigate the changing landscape, and that’s what this parent-child experience is all about. Over the course of a weekend, parents and their 10-12 year olds will be supported to navigate the changing landscape of their relationship and the changing landscape of the adolescent years.
Most of us don’t look forward to talking about puberty, technology, drugs, alcohol or self-esteem with our kids. We know it’s really important, but it’s difficult to find the right moment, or even know where to start. That’s why Tī Kōuka is so great. You make the time, and we create the space, start the conversation, and give you the tools to make it a memorable experience for all the right reasons.
