Tauriko School was well represented at the Western Bay Cross Country event 23 June 2021 @ Waipuna Park.

Following the West Cluster Cross Country events Tauriko had 6 qualifiers who formed part of a Tauranga West Cluster Team (Running in the green shirts). 

Congratulations to our qualifiers:

Year 4: Riley Forrest & Noah Eades

Year 6: Ben Brown, Cooper Guthrie, Conor Lloyd & Kaleb Davies

Tall Poppies: Regan Cumming & Joshua Tokelove

All of our runners ran with enthusiasm and perseverance against 60 other children in their race!  

Noah, Conor and Cooper all qualified for the next event and competed at the BOP Cross Country Champs. 

Kaleb "I was feeling nervous to run against Ben and all the other runners from different schools. I was pretty proud because I had made it to the WC event. I came 27th out of 60 other year 5 boys - I was happy with my run." 

Ben "I was pretty nervous on the start line and it was really squished. I was pleased with how I ran at Waipuna. The steep hill was tough to run up. I came 33rd out of 60 runners. I was happy with my race."
