Recently on Wednesday 24th of October, two teams of Year 5 and 6 students from Tauriko School competed in the annual BayMaths Competition held at Otumoetai Intermediate.

Students who participated were: 

Team 1: Ella Wilford, Nico Birt and Liam Louw

Team 2: Kyla Chen, Cyrus Morton-Shaw and Zeerak Riaz

They competed against 51 teams who came from all across the Bay of Plenty.

The BayMaths Competition is separated into three parts:

Part 1: 10 individual questions.

Part 2: 20 team questions.

Part 3: 8 timed team questions

The questions were quite a challenge but both teams tried their best.

Congratulations to Team 2 who came 1st in the team challenge and placed an amazing 2nd in the overall BayMaths competition (just 1 point behind the school who came first! Great job to Team 1 who came 36th.
