Centenary

Jolene Nelson —

And just like that, a once in a lifetime event is over.

Close to 200 people attended the 100 year celebrations outside of our current school families last Friday and Saturday.  Past staff and students attended an outstanding school assembly with some very smooth performances from students.  Our School Council did themselves proud by taking groups on  a school tour, which was educational for both those on the tour and those students taking the tour.

Over 100 people came back to school Friday evening to mix and mingle over refreshments and many were back again Saturday for some games and to be involved in the stunning decade photos that were taken under the cherry blossom tree.

The event concluded with a  lovely dinner in the Hall on Saturday night, thanks to Posh Nosh catering.  There were such great vibes at the dinner with numerous people commenting on what a great reunion it had been, which of course is always lovely to hear.

So the reason for this article, is to say thank you! Thank you to all the staff for working with classes in preparation for the Centenary (local history, performances, etc), and for their superb help over the Friday and Saturday event.  From helping with the games, to  setting up the hall, manning the bar, the list goes on.  A special thanks to Noel, our caretaker, for making the grounds look stunning.  A shout-out also to Natalie van Dijk for her amazing job as chief photographer.

Thank you to the PTA and to the parent volunteers who helped set up what was needed for the Centenary and  for helping out at the event.

Lastly, there are a small number of 100-Year commemorative books left over if you would like to purchase one. They can be purchased at the school office for $10 each, and will be available until they are sold out.
