One of the Term 4 CCC activities on offer this year was learning how to use Stop Motion Photography and Animation.

A big focus for our Year 5 & 6 students and teachers throughout the year has been to encourage our students to become 'creators of digital content'. Stop Motion is one fun way our students can create stories, messages, advertising and visual creations using digital technology.

Stop motion - is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit independent motion or change when the series of frames is played back.

The Year 4-8 students involved in the CCC sessions this term enjoyed retelling stories or creating their own. They learned how to create a basic Stop Motion animation with shapes, making simple objects move, animating lego characters and simple drawings. Please have a look at the clip below which shows some of the work created. The individual Stop Motion clips have been added and edited in imovie programme. Some of the Stop Motion clips contain 200 individual photographs or frames!
