Tauriko School is looking forward to our annual cross country events this Monday 22 May 2023.

COMPETITIVE EVENT  -  Waipuna Park (Years 4 -8)

We are taking 60 competitive runners to Waipuna Park.

Thank you to the offers of transport and marshalling - we require all of your support on Monday. Please meet in the school P.A.C for collection by 8.30am

• 8:45am: Depart Tauriko School in cars.

• 9.00am: Arrive at Waipuna Park. Students will sit together on the bank by the finish line.

• 9.05am: Welcome and Briefing

• 9.15am: Tall Poppies start

• 9.30am: Year 4 start

• 9.45am: Year 5 start

• 10.00am: Year 6 start

Please ensure your child has a raincoat, a towel and warm, dry clothes to put on at the end of their race. Runners should wear shoes due to the terrain and surfaces. 

Postponement decisions will be made by staff by 7.30am on Monday. If postponed a competitive event would have to be run at Tauriko School on another day.

• PTA Pizza Lunch (Pre orders only)

The purpose of this fun run is participation, developing perseverance and building healthy moving bodies. You are welcome to come along to support your children as they run the track (co designed with our students).

Your child has been encouraged to dress in house colours on the day but also please ensure they have warm layers for after they have run. 

RIMU - Yellow

TOTARA - Green

KAHIKATEA - Blue 

KAURI - Orange

If the weather is not suitable we will postpone the fun run to another day - weather dependent.
