Book Week 2018

Jo Te Whaiti —

In Week 4 we celebrated Book Week at Tauriko School, with a full week of exciting activities throughout the school.

Every year, Tauriko School celebrates books and literacy with a Book Week. This year the theme was 'Paws for Books'.

We had a range of events throughout the week. Our Character Parade on Tuesday morning saw all manner of characters break their way out of the books and into our school. This was followed by a hugely popular morning tea for our Grandparents who then joined us in classes.

On Wednesday afternoon, we had the Tauranga City librarians in to read at our PTA Milo & Marshmallows evening. On Thursday morning we shared stories with special guest, Tigger. The SPCA then shared tips on caring for pets. The week ended with the PJs & Popcorn sessions in the PAC hosted by the School Council .

A special thank you to those wonderful Mums who helped to run the Book Fair. We really appreciate you giving your precious time to us. Thank you also to the other members of our community who ran events, purchased books, donated books and generally supported us during this week. Finally, a big thank you to the PTA for donating $1000 towards new books for our library by sponsoring half of every book purchased for the library. There are a lot of brand new books on their way onto the shelves!
