Pablo Picasso is alive in Room 14...

Lauren Rose and Room 14 —

Pablo Picasso - Cubism style art is inspiring our year 5 and 6 students to create, recreate and appreciate!

In Room 14, we have been exploring Pablo Picasso's cubism style art. We began our studies by researching his life and famous artwork. Together we discussed the importance of shapes, bright colours, bold lines and A-symmetric faces when recreating Picasso inspired art. We have learnt about blending and shading of colours to create depth and texture.

Student voice:

Coley Christy- We are doing Picasso inspired art. He was a famous artist that did cubism style art. I am finding it fun and my painting is going well. My painting is half boy half girl and they are made up of mostly shapes. I have used hot colours on one side and cold colours on the other side.

Mae Beach- In our class we are doing art from a Picasso who is a famous artist from France. For me, it is enjoyable and fun because the colours that I am using are popping out. I have used light colours on one side and dark colours on the other side. I have learnt to blend colours which I am doing in the background of my art.
