Making something simple complicated!

As part of the Young Innovators Challenge our Tall Poppies have been busy designing and building Rube Goldberg machines. In teams, the students identified a customer and a problem and designed an innovative solution to that problem. The goal was to pop a balloon in the most complicated manner possible, using and identifying the energy involved at each step.

After getting started on their boards we had a visit from Lindsey Morgan from the House of Science who provided some practical advice. They then continued on, getting as much on the boards as possible.

The Tall Poppies have persevered through to completion. A lot of balloons were popped along the way - not always when we wanted them to! Our entries are in, so we'll now have to wait and see.
