STEM and Science Success
Science, engineering and titration opportunities
Congratulations to the students involved in the Innovative Young Minds presentations. Innovative Young Minds is a camp/learning workshop for young women interested in STEM. This year we had six year 12s participate. They spent the days visiting various science and engineering institutes and labs and worked on an innovation project to solve a local issue.
Our students worked together to invent a machine that can evaporate off ground water after flooding events, particularly to be used in farming and horticulture. The students are: Aidah Alam, Daniella Caccia-Birch, Vedika Patel, Calla Rix, Lucy Nixon & Suhaani Prasad.
More congratulations to Tawa College’s Science Department! This year in the NZIC Titration Competition Tawa College students placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd! Another outstanding result for our Science students. The students were: 1st Prize - Lucy Nixon, 2nd Prize - Daniella Caccia-Birch, 3rd Prize - Aidah Alam.
