Congratulations to Year 12 student Luke Scott-Hill who has been selected to attend the UC Science Camp later this term. Luke has mentioned below some of the details.

I've always been passionate in Science, from the day I opened an astronomy book to see a drawing of a Black Hole, sparking my curiosity for the unknown, I knew that my life would be full of learning. A few months ago I wanted to take the opportunity to apply for the UC Science Camp in Christchurch, given that I am Year 12, and furthermore I see University of Canterbury being the place I want to study. I knew the camp would be an awesome thing to do, from exploring the Science Workshops at UC, and getting a taste of university life - this was so important for me, and my future when I choose to study Engineering. I'm happy that I get to represent Tawa College for the UC Science program, given that only a limited number of students are able to attend.

The camp includes activities that range from a Physics Lab tutorial, Advanced Chemistry experimentations, Astronomy Education (and planning missions around the Solar System), and Biology exploration in a Canterbury Field.

This is very exciting for me, and the camp will take place from 11-16 of December, 2023.
