Congratulations to Year 11 student Ngaru Reedy whose U16 Central Mako Baseball team recently won the Nelson Heat Baseball Invitational tournament for 2023.

Central Mako went undefeated into the final facing the Hutt Valley Hornets in an 8-2 win to Central.  The weekend previous, Ngaru played for the U15 Central Mako at the Wellington Central Zone Softball Tournament 2023 where the Central Mako took out the tournament after a strong finals performance against Island Bay.

Ngaru says the best part about playing for Central is the development he has had and his teammates. He has a part-time job, trains nearly every day, and will have four or five games across three different age groups and two diamond sports.  Both tournament wins are a great start to a competitive season. We wish Ngaru all the best with his trials for the U17 Wellington Softball.
