Success for two Tawa College students at the World Junior Indoor Cricket Championships

Year 13 student Daniel van Straaten’s U18 NZ Men's Indoor Cricket team recently won the Junior World Cup to become world champions. They defeated South Africa convincingly in the semi-final and then beat Australia in the grand final.  The championships were held in Dubai. 

Tawa College student Ava Conroy (Y12) also attended this World Championship event, playing for the the U18 Women's NZ Indoor Cricket team who narrowly lost to Australia in the final. Ava was captain of the women's team and was named as Most Valuable Player for New Zealand.  Congratulations to both Daniel and Ava.
