Tawa College Dance Department is thrilled to have been granted funding from Creatives in Schools in 2024.

This scheme encourages collaboration between schools and local artists to create and develop art alongside students and teachers. This year we are very lucky to be collaborating with the Ballet Collective Aotearoa to create an original dance work to be performed at Mosaic.

The Ballet Collective Aotearoa is a new project-based contemporary ballet company based in Wellington. We will be working closely with the company's artistic director, Turid Revfeim, their education specialist, Brigitte Knight and dancers Elora Battah and Callum Phipps.

All of our dancers will get to work with the Ballet Collective Aotearoa during Term 2 and we will be sharing our performances with our whānau, friends and community at our annual showcase. We are very excited about being able to extend our practice and to learn from industry professionals.

Mosaic will be on from 2 - 4 July. Make sure to put this date on your calendars and come to see what promises to be our best show yet!
