Tawa College Library

Mrs Smith, Librarian —

Sign up for the TC Reading Challenge sponsored by Tawa Books & Post.

Final call out to any students that want to sign up for the T.C. Readers Challenge 2024. Entry closes at the end of Term 2. Sign up at the library. We can help students to select the books from each of the categories and with the end of term fast approaching, now is the time to make sure you have a few sorted to read over the holidays.

On Monday 24th June, our Year 9 Readers Cup team will take part in the Wellington Regional Readers Cup Competition to be held at Wellington College. The students have read six titles that they will be questioned on. They have worked hard to get prepared and we wish them all the best for a fun evening.

Term 2 Quote:

"Strong reading culture turns the page on literacy challenges"

By Education Gazette editors                                        ISSUE: VOLUME 103, NUMBER 6

“Strong readers can navigate our curriculum with more confidence than those who find reading challenging. Low literacy locks students out of learning, and I think we’re all aware of the consequences of this in our schools and beyond.”

Callum Gray, HOD English, Mt Roskill Grammar School.
