Tawa College - January 30, 2024
Recognitions of students' positive actions around the college are being added to your weekly attendance email.
In 2024, Tawa College is implementing a regular recognition system for our students to recognise the multiple ways students contribute to the culture of the school.
Teachers will recognise students who demonstrate the school values of respect, manaakitanga, connection, kotahitanga, reflection, kia whaiwhaakaro and striving, panekiretanga each week. Some students will be celebrated in Principal's Assemblies and Deans' Assemblies. Whānau will be notified of recognitions when student attendance is emailed home each week - there will be a short citation from the teacher along with the school value which inspired the recognition.
Regularly celebrating student achievement in a range of areas is a mana-enhancing practice. We hope this practice will benefit student growth and motivation and support whānau to feel part of the learning process, fostering a collaborative and supportive community of learning.
