New Pellet Boiler
We are pleased to let you all know that the new pellet boiler is up and running. The warmth permeates throughout our kura, making our akomanga nice and toasty.
During the holidays the coal boiler was removed and replaced with an OkoFen Pellet Boiler from Austria. Photos and korero were posted in the previous Tū Māia showing the removal of the coal boiler.
Ngā mihi whānau for your patience during the 2-day shut down of the kura in preparation for the installment of these boilers.
Apricus NZ Eco Energy has independently offered teaching materials under the Physical World curriculum. The information is in relation to the practical and theoretical inner workings of a pellet boiler.
These learning materials are relevant because we, Ngāti Manawa, are located as well as work here in the heart of the Kaingaroa Forest. Many of our Uri have whānau that are employed as forestry workers. The source of the pellet boiler fuel is the sawdust that comes from the logs removed from these forests.
Ngā mihi nui to Ian Charity and his team from Renewable Energy Limited, as well as Marcus Baker from Apricus NZ Eco Energy for their mahi of removing the old boiler, supplying and installing the new boiler. We look forward to many years of eco-friendly heating.
