We are honoured to host the following events:
#1 Foundation for Ainu Culture delegation:
Term 4 Week 4 9th November

・Mr.Takeshi Shono, Superintendent of Biratori Town Board of education
・Mr.Kenji Sekine, Ainu language instructor of Biratori Town Board of education
・Mr.Takayuki Okazaki, Associate Professor Faculty of International Studies at Kindai University

#2 Kagoshima City Council Delegation-hosts of the National Japan Secondary Cultural Festival 2023:
Term 4, Week 5, 15th November
This group will host our Kura when we attend the Kagoshima Festival next July 29th-August 4th.
It is an opportunity to meet kanohi ki te kanohi, and finalise all aspects of our trip.
We will welcome them at Rangitahi Pā at 10 am before taking them to our Kura.

#3 Ainu Youth Langugae Club- Rangatahi delegation
Summer Holidays- 8th and 9th January 2023
This is the second time the Kura will host this special group-rangatahi who have committed to learning Ainu Language.
We will welcome them at Rangitahi Pā at 10 am before taking them to our Kura.

#4 Host the International Ainu Youth Forum 2023
23nd and 23rd February 2023
This is the second time the Kura will host this special group. It is a fabulous opportunity for our rangatahi to meet other indigenous youth who share similar backgrounds. Both rōpū will perform-participate in cultural exchange among other awesome kaupapa.
We will welcome them at Rangitahi Pā at 10 am before taking them to our Kura.

#5 Kagoshima Sobun-Japna National Secondary Festival 2023
28th July-Aug 4th 2023
Our Kura will depart Aotearoa around the 24th-25th of July, bound for Kagoshima, Japan.
The itinerary includes:
-Official welcome ceremony for all 20,000 participants
-Walking in the official parade
-Performing on stage among the thousands of other participants
-Visiting three secondary schools to engage in exchanges with rangatahi
-Meeting Council officials
We will stay a second week in Tokyo:
-perform at two schools with whom we have participated in digital exchanges. We will take part in sporting and traditional performing arts exchanges
-we will head to Hokkaido to our whānau Kura-Biratori High School where we have a biennial student exchange plus one other school with whom we have digital exchanges
-Tokyo Disneyland
-Shibya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, -all the sights!
We have a jam-packed calendar coming at us with lots for Uri to prepare for, and engage in. We hope to see all our whānau attend the above events!
