E Tū Tāngata - Homegrown Heroes

Simon Moriarty —

Last Friday, we went to our first whole kura celebration assembly. It was wonderful to see our whole kura together celebrating the successes of each other and showing our school values (be kind, be respectful, be connected, be resilient, and be responsible) as well as our E Tū Tāngata mindset of 'I have value', 'Others Matter' and 'We succeed together'.

A favourite segment of our celebration is the Homegrown Heroes Awards. These awards acknowledge the effort tamariki show outside of our Kura.
Today our recipients are Chase Edwards-Tucker and William Keegan.
Chase is a phenomenal swimmer and recently competed in the South Island Champs in Dunedin.
William is a touch referee and gives his time every Tuesday to Rolleston Touch.
