Simon Moriarty —

It is weeks like this that remind me of what a supportive and positive hapori we have here at Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School. We can say no more than THANK YOU for your willingness to role model our E Tū Tāngata mindset to your children, our amazing students.

Firstly, thank you to everybody who was able to attend last weeks Making Connections Meetings and/or this week's Community Picnic. Our staff were thankful for the information you shared about your own children's strengths, talents, and next steps at the Making Connections Meetings as it highlighted -  You Have Value. Although the heat was a factor it was awesome to connect as a community at our School Picnic. Thank you to our PTA for suppling ice blocks for all the children that attended - We Succeed Together.

Today we came together as a school to support our fellow New Zealanders who are going through difficult times due to the impact of Cyclone Gabrielle. Many of us have had whānau and friends directly impacted by this disaster and it feels good to support them, even in little ways. We continue to keep everyone in our thoughts during this time. A special mention to fellow schools and their communities who face the painstaking task of re-opening. We will keep you updated on the amount raised that we will donate to the NZ Red Cross Appeal. - Others Matter

Children not able to be collected will be supervised at school until 3 pm.

To help plan for the day it is a requirement to contact the school office via email or phone if your child will be staying at school on that afternoon.
