Build Ōtautahi Minecraft Competition
Last Sunday, 20 Minecraft enthusiasts from Pōhutukawa (Year 5-6) took part in the Build Ōtautahi competition as part of the Smart Cities Expo, held at Te Pae. These dedicated students planned, prepared and built (and rebuilt!) their city plots leading up to the 1 hour build competition.
Students needed to build an innovative gap filler that was environmentally and economically sustainable, and drew in the crowds. This was a great way for our students to share their learning from our Term 3 Toro topic on Sustainability.
Well done to all of our Minecrafters, and a special congratulations to our 2 teams who took out the best creative, and best team work categories. Miss Shallcrass and Mrs Woolford are very proud of you all. Thanks to Wilj Dekkers for the support training the teams, and to our whānau who were great cheerleaders during the competition.
