Simon Moriarty —

Welcome back to Term 3. A special welcome to all new students, parents and caregivers to Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School. We look forward to working alongside you and please remember our door is always open.

Term 3 Events

With a slow return back to normality it is great to see that our students will once again be able to participate in a range of sporting, cultural and learning events both inside and outside of the school. These include zone winter sports opportunities, Yr 7&8 Camp, Life Education, Garden to Table, PTA Disco, preparation for Cultural Festival, full school assemblies and hopefully much, much more. PLEASE continue to keep updated via the key dates listed on our fortnightly newsletter, school Facebook Page, school App. and additional notices sent out when required.

Farewell

Unfortunately we say farewell to one of our amazing Learning Assistants, Pam Hamilton-Currey. Pam has been working at Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School for the past six years. She has done an amazing job in supporting students, staff and whānau within her time. We wish her all the best in her new adventures.

Welcome

We are incredibly lucky to have Jen Bailey join the Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School team for the remainder of this year. Jen will be working in Room 7 in our new New Entrant start up class.

Huge welcome to Megan Skilling. Megan will be fulfilling the role as our new Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School Sports Co-ordinator.

School X-Country

On the last day of Term 2 we held our annual Yr 5-8 School X-Country. The purpose of this X-Country was to select our representatives for today's Zone X-Country. A massive thanks to Ellie Stuckey, Ann-Marie-Sewell and Den McCloy who played key roles in the planning, organsing and running of the event. Fortunately we had an AMAZING day weather wise and it was fantastic to see many of our students competing in what proved to be a challenging course.

Congratulations to the following winners of each race catagory:

Year 5: Girl - Brooke Kroening                   Year 5: Boy - Stuart Van Der HeijdenYear 6: Girl - Lily  Sewell                            Year 6: Boy - Judah LodovikoYear 7/8 Combined: Girl- Eden Innes         Year 7/8 Combined: Boy- Adam Montford

Reminder

Just a reminder regarding the picking up of your children within school hours. We are aware that from time to time that you may have to collect your children from school due to an appointment or family event/emergency. If you could continue to keep these occasions to a minimum and communicate with the school office and/or classroom teacher in advance it would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great weekend.

Cheers

Simon
