Reminder - Student Cell Phone at School Procedure

Simon Moriarty —

We continue to have a higher percentage of students who are bringing cell phones to school. We understand that cell phones are an important tool students use to communicate with parents/caregivers before and after school. As we know Cell Phones can also be a Health & Safety Risk if used inappropriately, especially with growing national reports of online bullying.

To ensure we find the balance between connectivity between our students and parent/caregivers (before and after school) and ensuring we meet our Health & Safety requirements we thought it would be timely to remind you all of our Student Cell Phone at School Procedures.

1. All cell phones should be handed into the school office upon arrival at school.

2. If a student's cell phone is sighted by a staff member they will ask, support, and check that the student has handed the cell phone into the school office.

3. If a student fails to comply with handing the cell phone into the office a member of staff will contact the parent/caregivers to come and collect the cell phone from their child.

We would appreciate it if you could discuss this with your children if they bring a cell phone to school for before and after-school communication purposes.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
