Darryn Aitchison —

Welcome back to Term 2. It was great to welcome and meet our new students and families at our Mihi Whakatau assembly last week. The start to the term has been a very positive one. Staff and students have been working hard embracing our School Values and E Tu Tangata mindset in class and play.

Another big welcome to new staff who have begun this term:

Regan Baxter (Studio 12).

Maria Escudero and Nicole Findlater (Teacher Aides).

Revisioning continues to be a school focus with more signage and murals completed over the holidays. These revisioning features give the tamariki and staff identity and pride and help reinforce our Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School Values and E Tu Tangata philosophy. You will also notice a widening of the main pathway leading out to the Tennyson Street entrance. Widening this path allows easier access in and out of school at critical times, especially at the start and end of the day. We have also had permanent pathways created in the spaces between the library/hall and 6/8 Blocks to ensure our school environment is more accessible. Highlighting the main court and exterior buildings has also made the school more visible and proactive for students to learn, move and play.

We look forward to another fulfilling and exciting term at Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School. Please remember the office door is always open.
