Pohutukawa Camp

Simon Moriarty —

Two weeks ago, our Pōhutukawa students travelled to Living Springs for two nights and three days. 8B5, 8B6, 8B7 and 8B8 went Monday to Wednesday and 8B1, 8B2, 8B3 and 8B4 finished the week there from Wednesday to Friday.

Camp is an exhilarating experience that is much anticipated by many. Prior to camp we had some nerves about sleeping over but once on camp all was ok.
During camp we were able to use our school values of Be Responsible, Be respectful and Be Kind. All of the Living Springs staff were impressed by the attitude, manners and general positivity of our students. We were able to also use our E Tū Tāngata mindset of We Succeed Together and Others Matter in every aspect of camp, from the walk in from the Sign of the Bellbird right through to the dining room, from the bouldering wall through to the adventure stream. Our students that attended camp say that it was fun and the best thing they have done this year!

A massive thanks to all the staff, particularly Mrs Woolford, and the parent/caregivers who gave up time away from their families to support us on camp. It is greatly appreciated.

Here are video summaries of Camp 1 & Camp 2. Enjoy!
