Over the past week, Kahikatea finally got to go on their Waka on the Avon trip. The weather was chilly, but we were determined! We had a great time on the water learning about the waka and its traditions. We also learnt about local history. We walked around the city, looking at how our cultural history now has a footprint upon our town.
