Whānau Hui

Simon Moriarty —

Last week around 180 students, teachers and whānau members of Te Ahi Kaikōmako gathered for our whānau hui.

The first part of the evening was getting active with some Taonga Tākaro - traditional Māori games - including Tī Uru, Horo Hopu, and Whano, led by Jacob from Selwyn Sports Trust and supported by our awesome teachers! We loved seeing all our families getting involved and having fun together, and the competitiveness of the mums and dads didn't take long to show through!

The second part of the evening took us into Te Ahi Kōpae, our school hall, for a fish and chip tea - lots of chatting and catching up (and catching our breath) went on, and it was a great finish to the night.

Ngā mihi nui to all involved for a super fun gathering!
