Tony Grey —

It has been so nice to see our staff and students reconnect and start the term off on such a positive note, and to see the school return to a greater degree of "normal".

After a really settled COVID-free first week in our entire school, unfortunately we saw a spike again early last week (almost exclusively confined to Kererū Tahi class). However, since then, our case numbers have been very minimal. We will continue to let you know if there are a few cases in one class and/or if any teachers are away with COVID.

Of note, we have some people getting COVID for a 2nd time (within 2 months of first becoming positive). As reported widely on the news, some of these new sub-variants can easily be caught (even if you have recently had COVID).

Please continue to monitor your child’s health closely. If your child is even slightly unwell, please keep them home and get them tested. We know this may become a little harder as we also head into the Winter season of colds and sniffles.

One of our strategic goals this year (based on parent feedback in our Board survey at the end of 2021) was to create support material for our whānau around “Our Way”. This was part of our plan for 2021, but was stalled in Terms 3 & 4 due to lockdowns. Please see a range of information in this newsletter regarding Structured Literacy, and how you can support at home.
