Our Board of Trustees

Melissa Langley —

All of New Zealand’s state and state-integrated schools have a board of trustees. The board of trustees is the Crown entity responsible for the governance and the control of the management of the school.

For new schools, an Establishment Board of Trustees (EBoT) is appointed by the Ministry of Education.

The EBoT’s role is to oversee and assist in the process of setting up a new school. It stays in place for as long as it is required to ensure the new school has the best possible start it can. This is usually about six months after the opening of the school, at which time elections are held for the Board of Trustees.

Boards are responsible for overseeing the management of personnel, curriculum, property, finance and administration.
