Establishment Board of Trustees

Jo Wilson —

The Establishment Board held their final meeting on 27 June and are looking forward to passing the role of governance over to the elected board of whaanau / community representatives at the start of Term 3.

As an Establishment Board we have been privileged to see Te Ao Mārama School through the development phase. It is evident that the school is:

  • developing highly responsive teaching and learning programmes that promote equity and excellence in learner achievement, engagement and wellbeing.
  • creating a positive learning culture through developing powerful partnerships with parents, students, staff, community and other stakeholders.
  • developing and implementing systems and infrastructure that will allow for future growth & enables sustainability.

As a board we would like to acknowledge the leadership of Tony Grey, our Principal, and thank the senior leaders and staff for their professional and dedicated approach to creating a modern, future focussed learning environment that will inspire, challenge and empower our learners to create tomorrow today.

In closing we would like to leave you with this proverb that encourages the pursuit of excellence, to strive, to set goals, to persevere.

Whaaia te iti kahurangi ki te tuuohu koe me he maunga teitei

Seek the treasure you value most dearly: if you bow your head, let it be to a lofty mountain.
