Happy Diwali!

Whaea Ruby & Whaea Nikki —

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most popular Hindu festivals.

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, or the Festival of Lights, signifies the triumph of light over darkness, and renewal of life. Millions of Hindus around the world, including those in New Zealand, celebrate Diwali with gifts, lights, fireworks, and special meals.

The importance of recognising and celebrating cultural diversity is a strong message in The New Zealand Curriculum, with Cultural diversity being one of eight key principles. This week our students will be learning more about Diwali

As a very culturally diverse school (currently we have 45 countries represented ), this is something very important and special to us.
