Our Team - 2021

Tony Grey —

Our team recently had two staff-only days, where we focused on building relationships, growing collaboration and also schoolwide planning and focus areas.

With the tripling of our staff over the last 2 years, this is even more important. As a school we prioritise the importance of staff culture and valuing our team. If our team are supported and enjoying their roles, then in turn they are able to support our students even more.

Our hardworking, passionate and fun team is a really special aspect of our school.

A special welcome to our new team members who have started this week.

Anna Herbert

Anna Herbert
My name is Anna Herbert and I am excited to be starting work as a learning support here at Te Ao Mārama in 2021.
I was a learning support at Te Totara primary school for almost 3 years working with a special needs student. I am an empathetic person who is intuitive when it comes to the needs of others, I find this helps my learning support role with special needs children.
I am passionate about working with children of all ages and currently run an after school care at Te Totara primary school, which I have done for the past 8 years.
I have been married for 15 years to a wonderful man and have two teenage daughters who keep me on my toes. We live in the Flagstaff community so we know the area and people well.
I love animals and have 2 dogs and a cat, and hopefully will acquire a cockatoo soon.
I enjoy camping, family time and days at the beach.
I am very excited about my new role here at Te Ao Mārama and look forward to meeting all the school whānau and wider school community.

I was born in Malaysia but have been in New Zealand for over 30 years. I am happily married and living with my four children in Rototuna. Two of my sons have recently graduated from University and two younger children are currently in High School. In my spare time, I enjoy attending yoga sessions and exercising regularly.
Looking forward to this exciting journey with this community.

Kylie Scott

Kylie Scott
Hi, I'm excited to be joining the welcoming team at Te Ao Mārama as an Inclusive Learning Assistant.
I have previously worked as a Teacher Aide/ Learning Assistant in Hamilton and have a background as a qualified chef. These skills bring a range of experiences and knowledge that I can share with the children and staff here at Te Ao Mārama.
My husband Craig and I have two girls aged 13 and 10, and our favourite family activity is to explore the wonderful towns, cities, and beaches of this beautiful country. We especially look forward to eating out at great restaurants.
We live on a rural property that has plenty of room for our vegetable and herb gardens. I particularly enjoy harvesting our homegrown crops and turning them into chutneys, pickles and delicious meals.
