Level 2 Update

Tony Grey —

For most of us, life is largely returning to normality again but we are aware that we’re all in different places at the moment. Some families have returned completely to how life was pre-covid, while others are still wanting to keep their children home.

It is to be expected that there will be a wide range of emotions and views as we enter our 'new normal' during Level 2 and beyond.

Our school remains under Level 2 conditions until at least the 8th of June (when cabinet is due to review the conditions). These key features remain in place during Level 2:

  • Parents are highly encouraged to drop their children off in the drop-off zone, or for children to bike, scooter or walk to school
  • Parents on site need to be recorded on our Contact Tracing registers
  • To avoid congestion at the end of the day, Pūkeko and Kererū students leave at 2.20pm
  • We maintain and monitor good hygiene practices

The last two weeks back have been very successful and credit to our team, students and parents for their efforts to reconnect quickly. We did notice some students become quite tired towards the end of the week, so hopefully the extended weekend has supported these kids.

I also highly commend this wonderful website for parents: https://www.allright.org.nz/whanau-parenting.  Here you’ll find articles, tips and tools for surviving the ups and downs, helping your kids stay calm, manage worries and feel good.

Continue to keep up the kindness.
