Kāhu Farmer Time

Kasey Young & Lucy Rush —

Earlier this week, our Kāhu Tahi students took part in the “Farmer Time” programme, where they connected virtually with Sofie and Henry Gaddum from Kōtare Station, Matawai, East Coast.

Farmer Time is a unique educational programme that brings farming directly to students through virtual classroom sessions. It aims to inspire, engage and educate young people about the journey of food from farm to fork in the ever-changing agricultural industry.

Kāhi Tahi had the opportunity to ask questions, and gained a ‘real-time’ understanding of farming. A highlight was they have been given the opportunity to name the new puppy on the farm!
