Whānau Support Group

Olivia Newdick, Sarah Corkill & Anna Pratt —

Towards the end of 2019 we held an initial hui to gauge interest in establishing a Whānau Support Group. We had an excellent response! We were due to meet again this year but COVID-19 put a halt to that. Our next get together will be Thursday 23rd July, 7pm and everyone is welcome.

Please note – this is NOT a PTA, nor will we have lots of meetings, nor will we have a focus on fundraising!

Rather….this is a chance for friendly Te Ao Mārama parents to form a group to support the school and our whānau in some of these ways:
• Welcoming new families
• Supporting new immigrants and families that are learning English
• Supporting families in need e.g. meal rosters, supporting with pick-ups and drop-offs
• Establishing a walking school bus
• Providing opportunities for families to meet and connect with others
• Being a friend
• Actively demonstrating the power of community and living and breathing the school value of being community-minded

The group will be fun, friendly and supportive!

If you are interested, then please come along on Thursday 23rd July, 7pm. Drinks and nibbles will be provided

Please rsvp to Melissa – melissa@teaomarama.school.nz for catering purposes
