Our first day - 30/01/2019

Message from Tony

Tony Grey —

This Friday brings our very first year to an end. On 30th January we opened the door to 117 students (which has since doubled!) with our initial learners coming from 25 different NZ primary schools, 15 different early childhood centres and also 5 overseas schools.

The school whakatauki (Māori proverb), Whiria te tāngata, means to weave the people together, and this is what happened very quickly.

I am proud of the way our team of staff quickly came together and established a tight-knit culture. It isn’t easy setting up a new school from scratch, but I believe we are off to a great start, due to the commitment, passion and hard work of all of our staff. Please take the opportunity this week to pass on your thanks to our team.

Parents, I want to thank you for bringing your children to our school and trusting us with them every day. I have been  delighted at the support you have shown for our staff, and also to your children. To those that have volunteered for school events or sports teams, thank you so much.

Our students delight us every day. They have embraced our style of teaching and learning, are engaged, supportive of others and progressed in so many ways.

Have a fantastic holiday and we look forward to seeing you in 2020.
