Parent/Whānau Survey Results

Sally Grylls-Thomas —

ICE Time (Home based learning programme)

Thank you to the huge number of respondents. We had a 98.5% response rate!

We read through and reviewed all responses and have summarised the main points in the infographic.

We were pleased to see a very high % of parents indicating that aspects of ICE Time were “just right”.
Some parents wanted more work or more challenge, but these were then offset by those wanting less. It is important to note that ICE Time is to be treated as a "menu", and you can just pick and choose based on your own whānau circumstances, as we know many families have various commitments to juggle.

Communication: We were delighted to see such strong results here. Communicating without any face to face opportunities presents its challenges, but it appears that almost all parents are receiving our information via Facebook, emails and the app. Of course, please remember, if there is something that you would like to know, don’t hesitate to contact us.
While the survey highlights a very strong support for our approach, we also look to improve and develop. One area we will look to provide further will be the opportunity for students to connect with other classmates in real time virtually.

Keep an eye out for your teachers providing this opportunity next week. Please also keep in perspective that next week we have many of our teachers that will be working again on site during the day, and they will be doing their best to support both on site students, and also those students not on site.

There were many many positive and supportive messages - Thank you! We also want to express our gratitude for your understanding and support during this challenging time.

We'd also like to thank all of the respondents for the time they have taken to give their feedback. It is, after all, your school and it is important you have your say.
