Tony Grey —

As we watch events unfold around the world, we are reminded of the importance of our school wide vision to Inspire, Challenge & Empower, and two of our values to try and develop students that are confident and community-minded.

Never before have these been more important, as we look to prepare these children for an ever-changing world. Our contention is that these qualities are as important in education as literacy/numeracy and we should treat them with the same status.

Teaching the whole learner doesn’t mean we disregard academic achievement; it just means we refuse to disregard everything else that is important.

No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.
