Diarrhoea & Vomiting Illnesses

Melissa Langley —

We have had a small number of students with gastric bugs (diarrhoea and/or vomiting) over the last week.

Students that have had vomiting and/or diarrhoea need to be kept at home for at least 48 hours from the last time they were sick.

Please show courtesy to other families by making the necessary arrangements to ensure students are back to full health before returning to school, particularly with gastric/tummy bugs.

To stop sickness from spreading, it is important for you to keep your child at home when they are ill, and not send them to school. How long they should be home depends on what illness they have and you can find more information on this here: Infectious Diseases: Information and exclusion list (healthed.govt.nz)

Please ensure that your contact numbers (and emergency contact people/numbers) are current, as we are simply not equipped to look after students at school when they are unwell.

Thank you to those parents who have been extra vigilant with keeping their child at home with coughs/colds under Level 2 Guidelines.
