Internet Health & Wellbeing

Tony Grey —

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting John Parsons on Tuesday 21st May.

John Parsons

John is a leading NZ authority on Safeguarding children online and we highly recommend parents come along and hear his messages.

We have worked with John in our previous schools and regard this as a “parent don’t miss” opportunity.

Please see details below and attached flyer regarding the parent workshop:

During the day John will also be working directly in class with teachers and students helping them to take ownership of their wellbeing and to become capable, confident and connected within the “online world”.

Pūkeko and Kererū teams will complete a Digital Boundary workshop, and Kāhu students a “Nurturing and Valuing Identity” workshop.

John’s workshops help students learn to:

  • Repel and report unwanted attention when online
  • Support each other in times of need
  • Project self-confidence and control online
  • Nurture and protect online identity
  • Develop a strong sense of self-worth
