Kia ora e te whānau!

I’d like to take the opportunity to welcome our newly (and first ever!) elected Board of Trustees officially to their posts. 

Emma Burman, Heemi McDonald, Rithu Sara Mathew, Alf Lino and myself have joined Hone Waudby (Staff Trustee) and Tony as Principal in forming the Board. 

Recent weeks have been filled with background learning and professional development opportunities as we look to round off our respective skill sets to enable us to effectively act as governors of the school. This has included meetings with members of the former Establishment Board as well as a dive into the mana whenua history of the area and the wonderful gift that is our name ‘Te Ao Mārama’ with Whaea Pare Hopa. 

As we get into the swing of things as a group of trustees we look forward to mixing with the wider school community and making new connections. We will also look to keep you all posted on any matters of note via this space in Whiria Te Tāngata.
