Before & After School Supervision

We have noticed an increasing number of students arriving very early to school in the morning and staying late. Just a reminder that we do not expect to see any students prior to 8am, or after 2.40pm.

Supervision of students is very limited until 8.20am each day, when students can enter their classes. I ask that you consider what options you have in the morning to ensure your child is not arriving prior to 8.00am. Students arriving from 8.00am will need to wait outside until the Tūī sounds at 8.20am.

Arriving between 8.20 and 8.30am gives the students plenty of time to catch up with friends, hang up their school bag, and be in class ready to start at 8.40am. Arriving late is disruptive for the child, and for the class and teacher.

Please also note that the road patrol finishes at 8.35am and for the safety of your child we recommend aiming to arrive 8.20am-8.30am.

We appreciate that life can be busy, so here are a couple of tips to assist having your children get here in a timely manner

  • prepare your children the night before school - make sure they have everything they need
  • have a good morning routine that gets them to school on time, relaxed and with everything they need

After school we expect students to have left the grounds by 2.40pm. Please note that Journey Kids offers both before & after school care and we encourage you to use this service if you need it.

Thank you for your understanding & helping us keep our students safe.
