End of Year Achievement 2022

Te Ao Mārama School BoardFebruary 16, 2023

Kia ora e te whānau,

Welcome back to another exciting school year! We hope you all had a fantastic summer break and are ready to embark on a new year of learning and growth. It has been heartwarming to see all of the tamariki and kaiako reconnecting with past friends and students and making new connections in these first few weeks.

Thank you to all of the parents/caregivers for your patience around pick up and drop off times during Cyclone Gabrielle. We are so fortunate to have multiple areas from which to collect the tamariki.

We appreciated having Whaea Sally join our first board meeting of the year to share the 2022 Student Achievement data. Sally and the team are really proud to share the significant improvements of the students who were identified as needing extra support and the impact that additional support had made on their achievement. Overall the narrative of the student achievement data is positive and is a credit to the teachers and Inclusive Learning Assistants.

As it is a new calendar year the board has voted Andrew Corkill as the Board chair for the 2023 year. This decision was an easy one for the board and is a testament to the mahi and guidance that Andrew has already given to Te Ao Mārama over previous years.

We are hoping for a year that is uninterrupted by external factors as we as a school endeavor to continue to inspire, challenge and empower our learners, kaiako and community.

Ngā mihi nui,

Laura Casey
