We are delighted to announce the newest member of our team. Lucy Rush will join us as a beginning teacher in 2020, but will complete her final training/school placement in Kāhu Team during Term IV. Welcome Lucy!
Kia ora Koutou
My name is Lucy Rush and I am excited to announce that I will be starting my teaching journey as a beginning teacher next year at Te Ao Mārama. I come from a family of 5, being the youngest of two sisters. I am currently finishing off my Graduate Diploma at the University of Waikato and am lucky enough to be doing my final practicum with the Kāhu team. I feel very privileged about becoming a part of this amazing community and look forward to meeting the school staff, students and families.
I grew up in Te Awamutu and attended high school in Hamilton. In my final year, I was lucky enough to experience being an exchange student in Switzerland. This made me realise my love for teaching and the impact it can have on making a difference in our young one’s lives. I have a passion in health, and anything sport related.
I look forward to starting at school, and being a part of the footprint Te Ao Mārama is leaving.
We also delighted to announce Madeline Dickson will join us in Term One, 2020. Welcome Maddy!
Kia Ora Te Ao Mārama community!
My name is Madeleine Dickson and I am super excited to join the wonderful Te Ao Mārama team. For the last three years I have been a High School English teacher, and I am looking forward to this new challenge of supporting younger tamariki with their learning.
I am from Ōtautahi, Christchurch originally and moved to the Waikato for my first teaching role in 2017. In my free time I love to tramp and explore New Zealand’s beautiful backyard. I also enjoy playing netball, reading and spending time with friends and family.
I am especially passionate about reading, literacy, and the social sciences and I am excited to join students on their learning journey.
