Carpark Safety

Tony GreyAugust 7, 2019

With our school growing to almost 200 students, it is timely that we reshare our expectations and recommendations for drop-off and pick-up

Our carpark will become increasingly congested as our school continues to grow and we strongly urge you to consider parking on either Meadowfield Street or Borman Road, and have your child walk across to you.  There are gates on both sides of our school - between Kāhu and the Hare Puke playground, and also on the hard court area with access to Borman Road.

We encourage you to make a transport plan with your child that involves biking, scootering or walking at least once or twice a week, if possible.  This will dramatically reduce traffic congestion around our school.  A "rainy day plan" would also be helpful as many children are unsure what to do on these days and the weather inevitably always turns at 2:30pm!

Our drive way is a Pick-Up and Drop-Off only, which means that from 8:00-9:00am and 2:00-3:00pm there should be no cars left unattended in this zone.

In the afternoons, it is designed to be a flowing driveway where you swing in, pick up your waiting child, and go. This system works best when you arrive just after school finishes, so your child will already be outside waiting. If you are early and you cannot see your child straight away this causes the driveway to block up.  Please do a lap around the block and try again.

We welcome you to come into the school grounds, but if you are please use the onroad parking options around the school and walk in.

Thank you for working with us to keep your children safe.
