NZ Wool Services International

Jenny Washington —

Thank you to Mike and the team at NZ Wool Services International

On Thursday 6 June some members of the business group went to the New Zealand Wool Services International.

The trip to the NZ Wool Services International was very cool and the wool place was only a short walk from our school. When we got there Mike led us into a room where there was a big screen where we all sat down. Mike showed us a video of how the wool is made.

They usually give the wool to India, Thailand and China they but they do sell it all over the world though mostly these countries. There are different things that you can make with the wool like carpet and clothing.

There, Mike explained the process of how the wool gets shaved off the sheep, that process is called shearing. Next he explained that the farmers bundle it all up and place it in some sort of container, then it gets sent to the nearest cleaning facility. Then it goes through a giant washing machine to get clean.

Some of the staff have worked there for over 30 years.

Thank you to Mike and the team at NZ International Wool Services.
