Bishopdale/Burnside Rotary Club Junior Speech Contest 2022
In the last week of term 3, 2 Kererū students and 4 Kāhu students represented Te Ara Maurea Roydvale School at the Bishopdale/Burnside Rotary Club Junior Speech Contest.
The children chose their own topic and the year 4 students spoke for 2 minutes and the year 5&6 students for 3 minutes. They presented their speeches to judges without an audience and the children told us they were very nervous but pleased to have done it.
Kererū students chose persuasive speeches
- Jaimee - Why I should quit swimming.
- Lilah- Why Should My Family Get a Dog.
Kāhu Students chose a mix of persuasive and information speeches.
- Ruby - Why guns should be banned
- Bela - What is it really like to win?
- Sofia - Australian Drop Bears
- Yiting - Why you should wear a mask
Congratulations to Lilah, Jamiee, Ruby, Bela, Sofia and Yiting.
Thanks to Lana, Pete and Yuwei for transporting the children to and from the event.
